I would like to add a clean blend to this beautiful, but overpowering overdrive circuit (2nd image below, EQD Chrysalis). The JHS Moonshine V2 accomplishes this as shown in the first image. If I am not mistaken, if I transpose this to the indicated location (before 2nd amplification stage), it should work, right? But how would I calculate my resistor and pot values?
Thanks ahead of time!

Hi! I'm not a big fan of this circuit, with the low input impedance and an attenuator straight at the input before fixed gain. Given the somewhat unrefined nature of the circuit, I would have fun devising a blend which uses few parts. You can definitely put a BJT buffer in parallel to the input of this with no side-effects. Then an idea would be to make use of the existing output stage, scale the bias resistors while keeping the same bias (MPSA18 was overkill before, but now we can exploit the high beta), and then feed the two paths through a simple passive blend with something like a 500k/1M linear pot. Not ideal but more than good enough for the circuit, also noise-wise. I envisioned the forum as platform to discuss stuff from the site, but ideas like these are welcome to be honest, for those few that attend this place. Also, thanks for the test! It seems like attachments are stored in my already tight storage space, so it's external hosting from now on!
